The initiative of the College lecture series was birthed in 2019, and the committee was chaired by Dr Elizabeth Oluwakemi Augustus (as the then Deputy Provost, Academics) to deliver on this novel idea. It is a platform where erudite academics in the College get to present their contributions to the field of Agriculture, as well as motivate staff members with their experience and diligence to service. Staff members also get to learn the intricacies of conceptualizing and executing research investigations in their fields.
The 2023 edition of lecture series was delivered by *Dr Mrs. Foluke Iyabo Oluwatoyinbo* and *Engr. Dr Babajide Akanbi Adelekan,* while the topics presented were _“Harvesting Success in Managing Soil and Agricultural Education: A story of Rehabilitation and Amelioration”_ and _“Improving the Quality of Life: Agricultural Engineering to the Rescue”_, respectively.
Prior to the commencement of the programme, free medical tests (hepatitis B, blood pressure and blood sugar tests) were made available for interested participants.
Both presenters gave detailed accounts of their academic journey, career progression in the College, their ascension as the Provost, contributions to the growth of FCA, Ibadan, as well as their research works and publications. Detailed renditions of the lectures are documented in the College lecture series publication (2023 edition).
In her speech, the Provost, Dr. Mrs. E. O. Augustus, thanked God Almighty who made it possible for the audience to gather for such beautiful occasion, and she also appreciated the erudite speakers whom she believed will do justice to the topics of the lecture, as well as all the guests who have taken time out of their busy schedule to be present at the occasion. She prayed God will reward them abundantly.
