FEDERAL COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE, MOOR PLANTATION, IBADAN COMMENCES 2026/2027 RAIN SEMESTER EXAMINATIONS

The Federal College of Agriculture, Moor Plantation, Ibadan, on Monday, 27th July 2026, commenced the 2026/2027 Rain Semester Examinations across all the Schools of the College.

Students reported to their various examination halls from 8:00 a.m. for clearance and verification, while the examinations commenced promptly at 8:30 a.m., demonstrating the College's commitment to discipline, punctuality, and academic excellence.

The Provost of the College, Professor Jonathan Jeremiah Atungwu, was represented by the Deputy Provost (Academics), Dr. (Mrs.) Victoria E. Okpeze, who addressed students before the commencement of the examinations.

In her address, Dr. Okpeze emphasized the importance of possessing valid student identity cards and examination clearance. She advised students awaiting disbursement of the NELFUND loan to visit the College Bursary immediately to obtain the necessary financial clearance. She further stressed that any student without a valid identity card and examination clearance would not be permitted to participate in subsequent examination papers.

Following the address, the Deputy Provost (Academics) embarked on an inspection of the examination halls alongside the Dean of the School of Agriculture, Dr. (Mrs.) M. O. Sodamola, to assess the level of preparedness and monitor compliance with examination regulations.

The examination supervision was effectively coordinated across the various halls. Mr. Ogunleti served as the Chief Supervisor in Hall A, assisted by other lecturers. Mr. Jokanola coordinated activities in Hall B with his team, while Dr. (Mrs.) Oni supervised Hall C. Mrs. Agbebi oversaw Hall D with her team, and Mrs. Akinola coordinated Hall E alongside five lecturers. Reports indicated that all supervisors were fully on the ground, vigilant, and actively carrying out their responsibilities throughout the examinations.

Speaking on the responsibilities of examination supervisors, Dr. Okpeze described them as chief invigilators and proctors who play a critical role in safeguarding the integrity and credibility of the College's assessment process.

According to her, examination supervisors are responsible for ensuring that examinations are conducted smoothly, fairly, and in strict compliance with institutional regulations. Their duties begin well before candidates enter the examination hall, including verifying the hall arrangement, ensuring adequate spacing between candidates to discourage examination malpractice, securely handling question papers, confirming students' identities and attendance, and distributing answer booklets and other approved examination materials.

During the examinations, supervisors are expected to remain alert, monitor candidates continuously for any form of malpractice, enforce examination rules, provide necessary instructions, and maintain a conducive atmosphere for all candidates.

Dr. Okpeze further noted that supervisors must exercise sound judgment when handling special situations, such as candidates arriving late or without proper identification, while ensuring that College regulations are strictly observed and all incidents are properly documented.

She also highlighted the importance of emergency preparedness, explaining that in the event of a medical emergency during an examination, supervisors should prioritize the student's safety by promptly initiating first-aid procedures, notifying the appropriate medical personnel, and ensuring minimal disruption to other candidates.

The Deputy Provost concluded by wishing all students success in their examinations and urged them to conduct themselves responsibly throughout the examination period. She also prayed for an examination exercise that would be peaceful, hitch-free, and accident-free.

The management of the Federal College of Agriculture, Moor Plantation, Ibadan, reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of transparency, fairness, and academic integrity in all examination processes.
