Generally, Agricultural Consultancy Services produce insight on technical and business matters in various areas of Agriculture, be it Agronomy, Livestock, Nutrition, Waste Management, Environment, Agricultural Establishment Planning and Conservation. Consultancy unit is saddled with the responsibilities of offering technical, financial and commercial advice to agricultural businesses executed by the College. It ensures businesses or enterprises are managed and operated efficiently in the interest of the College.
Federal College of Agriculture, Ibadan is currently rendering full-scale services in the following areas:
- Education and training services
- Farm machinery services
- Crop production
- Produce processing, crop storage and preservation services
- Facilities support services
The Consultancy Unit established and managed a consultancy exotic Cucumber and Tomato farms in the College. These Farms have recently yielded produce for marketing. In addition to crop production, the College slaughter house is equally managed by the Unit. The College, in conjunction with Day Old Chicks Merchant association of Nigeria, has established a day old market for marketing of birds. This is expected to serve the day old chicks demand of the entire Moor community. The market is located at Bora farm of the College.
The College recently established a modern irrigated exotic vegetable production facility. The facility is developed to produce safe, fully-organic Cucumber, Spices and other exotic vegetables for commercial purposes.
