History of Department of Agricultural Extension & Management Technology


It is with great honour and pleasure to welcome both fresh and stale men of the Department of Agricultural Extension and Management, Federal College of Agriculture, Ibadan Nigeria on this web page.

This College is the oldest College of Agriculture in Nigeria and West Africa at large. The College was established in the year 1921 and has an enviable history of excellence in Agricultural Training, making it a renown institution internationally.

The Department of Agricultural Extension and Management of the College was formally created in the year 2012 to effectively function and discharge its duties as mandated by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) under the College administration headed by Dr. Mrs F.I Oluwatoyinbo as the Executive Provost. The pioneer set of students was admitted in the year 2012 . The Department runs majorly Higher National Diploma (HND) only and has turn out graduates who are currently on their National Youth Service Corp Scheme (NYSC).

The Department have dedicated lecturers, instructors, technologists, and administrative staff who are highly enlightened, competent and ever ready to assist students academically in their various endeavours. Facilities available are of international standard and compare favourably with those available in any tertiary institution in the country.

I hereby encourage our students to make judicious use of this resources for their academic pursuit.
